Ophthalmology is is the specialist branch of medicine concerned with the eye and its diseases.

At the Aran Veterinary Clinic, Gudrun Janssen has a special interest in Veterinary Ophthalmology and obtained her Certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology in 2011.

Gudrun (CertVOphthal. Dr.med.vet, MRCVS) studied veterinary medicine in Hannover, Germany and in Berne, Switzerland and graduated in 1989. After finishing her doctoral thesis in Virology/Immunology, she moved to the UK in 1999. Before moving to North Wales,Gudrun worked for a well known large hospital based veterinary group in the South East.

Gudrun is treating a wide range of eye conditions in small animals and exotics and offers a complete eye examination, including tonometry (measuring the pressure inside the eye), retinal examination,ultrasound and various surgical procedures.

In her spare time she enjoys family life with her partner, two children and her cat Skippy.
